Hi, we're Lisa and John
We're a couple building a life around travel, and ALKIKI is how we share it: the places we love, the people we meet and the trips we plan for others.
Lisa
Travel has always been the thread running through my life. I studied it properly, with a Master's in Tourism, but the best lessons came from the road: the taverna owner who sent us to her cousin's village, the bus driver who insisted we see the sunset from his favourite bend.
My studies taught me how destinations work: seasons, crowds, how tourism shapes local communities, and how to travel in a way that gives back. My trips taught me that the magic is almost always in the small, personal details.
I write most of what you read here, and I lead every trip plan. When you send us a request, I'm the one reading your answers with a cup of coffee and a map.
John
John is my co-founder, travel partner and the reason any of this works. With a BSc in Computing, he built ALKIKI from the ground up: the questionnaire, your private trip portal and the tools we use to put every plan together.
He's also our resident remote worker. If you're planning to work on the road, he's already tested the Wi-Fi, found the coworking spot and worked out the time zones for you.

Why we keep it personal
There are endless itinerary generators out there. We wanted to make the opposite: a plan written by people, for people. Every plan starts with your answers and our own library of places we've been and businesses we trust.
That's also why we don't take every request. If we can't make your trip genuinely better, we'll say so, and we never book or sell you anything on the side. Our only job is to give you the best plan we can.
