Remote work
Working from Naxos: an honest remote-work week
Wi-Fi, time zones and whether you can really answer emails with a view of the Aegean. We report back.

We run our business from the road, so we need a decent connection wherever we go. Islands make people nervous about that. Here's what a working week on Naxos actually looked like.
Connectivity
In Chora, the main town, connections were good enough for video calls most of the time. In the mountain villages, less so. My rule: stay in or near town on work days, and save the villages for days off.
A rhythm that works
- Work early, while it's cool and quiet
- Swim and lunch in the middle of the day
- A second short work block in the late afternoon if needed
- Dinner late, like everyone else
Time zones
Greece is ahead of most of Europe and well ahead of the Americas. If your meetings are in US hours, plan for evening calls and build your days around that. It's something we always ask about in the questionnaire.
Verdict: very doable, with a bit of planning. And yes, answering emails with a view of the Aegean is as good as it sounds.
